 Wee Man Studios will be conducting games testing on Mon 15th Afternoon in the afternoon.
Although still in development, this will be the first time the full Galactic Racer will be tested.
We are looking for people to come down between 1pm to 5pm an be able to spend up to 20 minutes playing the game and giving their feedback. |

Dark Water Studios is an Indie games development studio based in Northern Ireland and this is the latest gameplay trailer of their forthcoming title "DogFighter".
DogFighter is a fast paced, arcade aerial combat game with arena style gameplay values. Players will engage in single and multiplayer game modes using beefed up biplanes sporting a vast array of weaponry including the deadly Viper Cannon and the devastating Annihilator Missile. |

If you could have any tech job in the world, it would probably be with Apple or Google. Until recently Eric Schmidt was on the board of both but had to resign from Apple to concentrate on his role as CEO of Google. Shareholders considered there was a conflict of interest, a conflict which has only become more open and bare knuckle in the last few months. |

In the last 10 days we have pitched for investment and been interviewed by the BBC on Gaming as a career for students, both of which has put us on the spot to state the case for Games, and in particular the gaming industry in NI. 10 years ago John Owens (co-founder Wee Man Studios) had to leave NI to get a job in the games industry.  A team of local students are set to represent Northern Ireland in the finals of an international video game development competition.
Jim Murray, Gavin McLaughlin, Aaron Ward and Philip Lawson, from the School of Computing and Intelligent Systems at the University of Ulster’s Magee campus, will compete in the Dare to be Digital finals in Edinburgh this summer. They will be joined by a fifth team member, Andreas Antoniades, from Dublin. |

Experts in the multi-million pound computer games industry took part in a two-day international event at the University of Ulster’s Magee Campus focused on using Microsoft’s XNA video games development platform. The Microsoft XNA Academic Summit (XNAFEST 2009) attracted more than 60 leading academics and industry practitioners in design, development and teaching, with speakers from Italy, Belgium, UK and Ireland. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the benefits of using the XNA platform for teaching and highlight the range of resources already available to educators. |
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster today announced a £606,000 investment by Jolt Online Gaming, supported by Invest Northern Ireland. Jolt, an online gaming publisher which has offices in Vancouver, Dublin and Hamburg, has set up a Northern Ireland centre in Newry to manage the firm’s core online gaming software systems and provide technical support to players globally. Invest NI has offered £223,000 towards the investment, which will result in the creation of 15 new highly skilled technical support and software jobs. |
